"...Dad, it's Saturday."
Maybe the high schools in Vietnam were boarding schools?
This week marked the end of instruction at UCSD; all that's left is dreaded Finals Week. It's either slay the dragon and make it through to a happy winter break, or be burnt to a pile of bummed out ashes and live your break in disappointment. I should really get studying...tomorrow...cause today I just don't feel like it.
Recently started watching Yu-Gi-Oh: 5D's because there isn't anything else to watch, thanks to Thanksgiving pushing back The Office and Flashforward a week. The anime starts off rather slow and simple. Protagonist Yusei's friend abandoned him and their other friends, stealing Yusei's bike and treasured Duel Monsters card; very reminiscent of Seto Kaiba pilfering Sugoroku Mutou's BEWD. The plot of the first few episodes is about Yusei's obvious goal of tracking down his (ex?)friend
The twist? There are duels. On motorcycles. All the time. Yeeaaaahhh. Who's idea was that anyways? Fortunately, the "Riding Duels" begin to fade away after what feels like a long, long time, replaced with the standard good old duel disk duels. For like 5 episodes...
Aside from the pervasive cringe-inducing riding duels (which are nothing new besides being played on motorcycles) the character interactions and development more than make up for it, and the story develops into something interesting. I say it's worth watching if you thought the DOMA/DOOM arc of the first Yu-Gi-Oh series was decent. I'm starting to like it more than I liked GX, actually.
Going to my first Yu-Gi-Oh tournament next Sunday when finals are over with. Hopefully I can win something with my 2-year-old deck. I actually purchased some new cards last week, including a cheap Synchro Monster (which unfortunately is not Stardust Dragon). Despite being cheap and rather easy to use, I can't use it, because I forgot to buy a set of Tuner cards to go with it... Graahh! I'm hoping the card store I'll be going to has some singles I need in stock so I can buy them before the event starts. If not, I'll have to buy them online, and most likely be eliminated early because I lack them. Well, this should be fun, yeah?
JR's coming along too, and he doesn't know that I'm using him to get $5 of store credit. What he doesn't know won't hurt him...

Hi dear,
I'm planning to backpack around the world.
It's very interesting seeing culture, people, and nature around the world. If I come to your country, would you mind to be my guide?
